My artwork explores formal painting qualities by capturing light, colour and movement in stark contrasts. The playful movement and interaction of form alongside drawn elements and layers describes the complex nature of human emotion on a two dimensional plane.

The paintings are built organically with a sculptural approach with each form relating to the next and forming a balanced composure. Order and alignment create peaceful resolutions within the works whilst simultaneously acknowledging a fragility that lies beneath.

My works evolve as an ongoing dialogue within the studio where experiences in life inform a sense of self and well being. The paintings illustrate the layers we build within and how the stories we tell ourselves build who we become.
