About Alice Luetchford

  • Biography

Welcome to my online gallery! I’m Alice, an artist, a Londoner, a ski racer, a van dweller and a hippy at heart – not necessarily in that order.

I believe that nature soothes and nourishes the soul. I draw and paint to try and bring nature’s healing powers indoors to promote a sense of calm and peace.

As a ski racing fanatic and lover of nature I get my inspiration from the great outdoors, be it stunning mountain peaks, expansive ocean views, or the vibrant colours of the English countryside. My work is created either on location or is inspired by my photography.

I love creating original artworks and am thrilled by the reactions of my customers who continue to enjoy my artwork in their homes. If you would like to bring the restorative power of nature into your home then I would very much love to discuss a sale with you, either of one of my original landscape scenes or of a subject that you commission me to paint.

In the past commissioned works have included painting peoples’ holiday or honeymoon photographs and creating portraits of peoples’ family members including pets. I am passionate about making my commissions as bespoke as possible, and therefore allow customers to make as many revisions as they wish. If you have a moment from your own life that you would like captured on canvas, then please do get in touch as I would be very happy to discuss it with you.

I was shortlisted for the National Portrait Gallery’s BP Portrait Award Exhibition in 2016 and was featured in Vogue (UK) in January, February and March 2016. I also took part in the renowned Dulwich Artists’ Open House from 2013 - 2015.

I create my artworks both in my south London home and on location when possible. If you would like to view a painting in person before purchasing, then do get in touch to arrange.

My paintings are carefully wrapped and dispatched with the utmost care and attention. I will update you with tracking numbers and offer free shipping to anyone in the U.K. I aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days.

A great exhibition showing art from schools and Teach First staff. Money from the exhibition went to supporting Teach First’s work – Teach First is an educational charity working to end educational inequality. Really enjoyed exhibiting at the Dulwich Open House Artists’ Festival again this year in Richard Watts’ beautiful pad. I’m was slightly more experimental in a couple of ways. The work of over 80 photographers were anonymised and printed in exactly the same way, meaning it was a very democratic and liberating experience. You could appreciate (and buy) the photographs – without the art bollocks!
