The painting depicts some women who go to buy water but discover that it is now over. The saleswoman sits next to the tap with now empty bowls, while her conductor watches the scene from above.
The action takes place at night in a desert area illuminated by the light of a strong street lamp, with a series of old empty metal bins in the background.
The work is part of the "work" cycle and reflects both the exploitation of female labor and the progress of desertification due to climate change.
The work is done by mixing raw pigments with linseed oil.
