Having lunch at a restaurant on the water in Woods Hole on Cape Cod, I was dreaming about this beautiful sailboat that was moored outside the window setting sail out to the ocean and low and behold it did. It was a lucky shot and I used it for this painting. I thought of these women as Woods Hole Oceanographic scientist as I was painting it. It is a tribute to women in the scientific community.
