Original artwork description:

This painting was once a part of a single large work along with the work Monkey Bars in the Summer. Behind this fact goes an interesting story. Together with my painting professors at the Warsaw Academy, we discussed the piece week after week – something in it felt off. I couldn’t capture the right balance, and the message I wanted to convey just wouldn’t come through.

One day I decided there was no use trying to unite what didn’t belong together: the upper part – a fleeting, natural moment of reflection beneath the trees – and the lower one – a sharp, geometric study of the monkey bars illuminated by midsummer light. I carefully separated the canvas into two distinct, self-sufficient paintings and stretched them onto new wooden frames made to measure their new proportions.

To say the least, my professors were surprised by my way of dealing with the problem. But the result turned out better than expected – both paintings gained clarity, independence, and a shared story.

The paintings are ready to hang and will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, insured and tracked to ensure their safety during transport. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.

Materials used:

Oil paint on canvas
