Winter Tree (2026) Original Oil Painting by Joanna Farrow

I enjoy painting the structure of winter trees and seeing through and beyond them to trees and a hint of landscape beyond. In this case the view of the Ashdown Forest is partially lost in winter mist. I like to keep the marks loose and movable by using brushes and cloths to move the paint around. This painting in on a deep canvas and set in a good quality, painted wood frame with a shadow gap between canvas and frame.
