This oil-on-canvas study, painted en plein air, captures a stand of young and mature trees in a snow-covered park. It depicts a cloudy day marked by fleeting glimpses of sunlight—a moment of temporary winter thaw. I sought to capture this transient state of nature where the sharp cold recedes, replaced by a soft, humid atmosphere. This atmospheric shift deepens the perspective through a light haze that envelops and generalizes the background, visually pushing it away from the foreground. A dim strip of sunlight illuminates the snow, breaking through the overcast sky. The scene is composed of a harmonious palette of closely related tones, offering a calm and relaxing visual experience. This motif allowed me to document a unique interplay of light and color, utilizing complex color mixtures to expand my artistic vocabulary.

The presented work was created in the open air (from the French «Plein air").

• 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: painted with professional high-quality oil paints, ensuring lasting colors and durability.
