Original artwork description
This is one of three paintings of my local, rural landscape, a pretty area of tall Scot's Pine trees surrounded by thawing snow. In this painting I wanted to capture the distant glow of orange sunlight which is typical in winter. My brushwork is very loose and I have kept the palette soft and muted apart from the vibrant glimmer of orange on the horizon. The painting is on card which I have recently started to work on as the paint moves around easily and the finished piece can be cut to any size. I have framed this painting in a good quality wood frame with a matt silver finish which enhances the cool mood of the painting.
