This painting was inspired by a rocky, local landscape in East Sussex UK. The leafless birch and soft pinky purple light give the piece a cool, wintry feel. I like the perspective of this artwork, from the well defined rocks in the foreground to the undulating field and distant trees. I have set the painting in a white painted, good quality frame with a shadow gap between canvas and frame to accentuate the work.
