The beginning of July is a time when the memory of winter has already faded so much that it seems impossible that it will come again. While the sun outside is baking the earth with 40 degrees in the shade, looking at this painting of snow covering firewood makes it seem like it's from a fairy tale, although nothing in it is unreal or fanciful. Just far away, fresh, cold.... Oh, I hate sweating!
