Winter Comes to the Highlands captures the quiet majesty of the Scottish mountains in their coldest season. Snow lies across the landscape in soft, crystalline layers, while the deep blues of the evening sky settle slowly over the hills. As the sun slipped below the horizon, a final, touch of light touched the summit of Stac Pollaidh — one of Scotland’s most iconic peaks — illuminating its crown for a fleeting moment.

Photographed as a long exposure in freezing temperatures, this work reflects both the stillness and the drama of winter in the Highlands. It is a classic, atmospheric view of Scotland: expansive, serene, and filled with the quiet power of the land.

Printed in a limited edition on museum-quality fine art aquarelle paper, Winter Comes to the Highlands brings a sense of grandeur and calm to modern interiors.
