Will the cranes fly away, perhaps they were never here to begin with? Everything in the painting seems so ephemeral, unreal, except for the girl in the red dress. The red dress becomes a part of the space in the painting, dissolving into the air. Meanwhile, the girl seems to be situated somewhere inside a room. How did the cranes get there?
