Framed and ready to hang. The bespoke wood frame has an inner slip painted white with a limewashed outer frame.
The warm palette focuses on the autumnal reds and oranges contrasted with deep purple blacks in the shadow areas. This lively set of colours is tempered with neutral shades.
The painting is inspired by a wild boggy meadow that used to belong to a very old friend. I loved spending time in this very boggy field and have many sketchbook paintings of it. This painting uses these sketches as a jumping off point. The tall grasses contrasted so beautifully with the dark background.
I feel that in spite of the hot palette, it is a quiet and reflective piece.
The painting is shipped wrapped in several protective layers before being placed in a sturdy cardboard box.
