I painted this work as if I were listening to a conversation that could not be interrupted.
The old tree by the water was not just a form, but a living being, tired and wise, with branches reaching out like hands, trying to hold onto the slipping wind.
I stood on that shore for a long time.
The water was calm, yet there was movement within it — like a memory that does not fade.
The distant hills breathed warmth, and the sky was almost transparent, as if the world had grown lighter for a moment.
But the main thing was the tree.
Its broken lines, the weight of the trunk, the nervous plasticity of its branches — all of it sounded within me like a quiet, persistent whisper.
I did not strive for accuracy.
What mattered more to me was capturing that inner tension.
