Artwork description
This serene impressionist seascape captures a soft summer sunrise at An Corran, a remote beach on the northern edge of the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands. In this contemporary coastal landscape, pale blue water and luminous sky merge seamlessly, creating a calm horizon where sea and sky appear to dissolve into one another.
Using long exposure and subtle camera movement, the scene is transformed into a gentle, painterly composition. The silvery light and soft cloud formations drift across the sky, reflecting delicate tones of blue, cream and warm peach across the water. A small island to the left, home to grazing sheep through the summer months, anchors the composition, while distant mountains on the mainland fade into atmospheric haze.
