Where the Dark Opens (2026) Original Watercolour by Kari Silveira
21 x 27.9cm (unframed) / 21 x 29.7cm (actual image size)
£149.71
Original artwork description
Where the Dark Opens explores the moment when uncertainty begins to reveal a way through.
I built the landscape through translucent layers of deep blue, turquoise, grey and muted earth tones, allowing water and pigment to create forms that remain deliberately ambiguous. They may suggest trees, distant lights or fragments of memory emerging from the atmosphere.
In the foreground, a solitary figure in red stands before an opening in the darkness.
Small against the surrounding landscape, the figure carries both vulnerability and resolve — the quiet courage required to move forward before the path is entirely clear.
Created in Malta in 2026, this original watercolour is part of my continuing exploration of distance, transition and the search for direction within uncertain landscapes.
The artwork is sold unframed and will be carefully packaged with a signed certificate of authenticity.
