Where the light ends (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Andre Bräuer

“Where the Light Ends” explores the fleeting moment when daylight begins to disappear and the landscape falls into shadow. Intense layers of yellow, orange, red and earthy tones create a glowing sky, while the dark foreground forms a dramatic contrast between light and darkness.

Expressive textures and energetic marks give the surface a sense of movement, almost as if the last light of the day were spreading across the canvas. Small silhouetted figures and organic forms emerge from the landscape, adding a subtle human presence within the vast composition.

The work captures a moment of transition — between day and night, warmth and darkness, presence and disappearance. Where the Light Ends invites the viewer to pause at that boundary and imagine what might exist beyond it.
