I love to paint still life in a way which hints at an underlying story but it is left to the viewer to decide for themselves what that may be. When I started this painting, reports of the Turkey/Syria earthquake dominated the news. The was one journalist who having described and shown awful scenes of destruction turned the camera to one little flower which had somehow survived the tons of crumbled walls that surrounded it. I have used a palette knife to introduce rough texture reminiscent of crumbling plaster over which the flowers have been painted. Nature always finds a way however bad it gets.

This painting is sold unframed but is suitable to do so should you wish. I do not varnish my paintings , as I prefer the slightly chalky look of the oils as laid down. If you would like it varnished before sending, I can do so at no extra cost.

The painting is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and initialled on the front.

I ship internationally using an insured, tracked and signed for service. Please note that payment of import duty/tax is the responsibility of the buyer.
