This oil painting was painted last year from my neighbour Welsh Cob only a few days after she gave birth to this colt foal. The mare is chestnut colouring, but it is too early to be sure of the foal colouring yet. The Welsh Cob is a lovely animal strong and well behaved. I like painting chestnuts ponies because of the contrasting main and tail with the rich browns of the coat. This small picture has a simple gold frame with a light slip which suits the painting.
