This painting was created through free improvisation to the music of Pink Floyd's album "Wish You Were Here." The song "Welcome to the Machine" played on a loop in the studio during the final stages of the work, eventually becoming its title.

Different interpretations of the song's lyrics somehow appear in the painting's narrative.

A story of the past and present. The unknown, what slips through our fingers... Nature, antiquity, the earthly and the spiritual.

We think we are gods, but we are merely monkeys who have risen above expectations.

Gestural, intuitive painting that lets things happen and relies on what emerges. Embracing chance and accepting the consequences.

Materials used:

acrylic, gesso, pigments, charcoal, wax, graphite
