Original artwork description
We are heroes XII is a large abstract painting 120 cm/47.24 in H x 160 cm/62.99 in W, 4 cm/1,56 in deep. The painting is mixed media ( acrylics, spray paint, dripped acrylics, soft pastels ) on high quality canvas.
'Heroes' is a song by singer-songwriter David Bowie. It was co-written by Bowie and Brian Eno. It was recorded in 1977 at Hansa Studio by the Wall. A product of Bowie's "Berlin" period, the track was not a huge hit in the United Kingdom or the United States after its release, but it has since become one of his signature songs.
The song tells the story of two lovers, one from East and one from West Berlin. Bowie's performance of "'Heroes'" on 6 June 1987, at the German Reichstag in West Berlin has been considered a catalyst to the later fall of the Berlin Wall. Following his death in January 2016, the German government thanked Bowie for "helping to bring down the Wall", adding "you are now among Heroes".
Expressive color combination on a white ground. Contrast between geometrical forms and fluid gestural painting and expressive lines makes this artwork unique.
"we are heroes" is sprayed on the canvas.
This expressive artwork is ready to hang, edges are painted. The signature is on the front. It is varnished for protection against UV light and dust. You will receive a signed certificate of authenticity. It will be packed professionally.
