Watching the sunset (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Olesya Bay

50 x 35 x 2cm (unframed)

£724.59

This minimalist painting from the "Memories in Red" series captures a red sunset over a lake, evoking the calm, reflective nature of Ukrainian waters. Two boats rest on the glassy surface, their quiet presence in the foreground drawing attention to the vastness of the still lake and the fiery sky above. The lake, often a symbol of peace and introspection, mirrors the red hues of the sunset, while the deep blue of the water contrasts with the intensity of the sky.

Memories in Red
This series brings together paintings that capture the full spectrum of my memories-scenes, feelings, and experiences from my time in pre-war Ukraine. The color red is central to this collection because it represents warmth, depth, and the positive emotions that I associate with my homeland. But at the same time remembers about todays war. Many of these works also reflect my childhood memories.
