Original artwork description:

The melted, almost pouring-looking asphalt at the Warsaw North Ursus station makes the wait for a train much more bearable. It catches the light in endlessly interesting ways – depending on the weather – and no painter could simply walk by indifferently.

Rain, snow, sunlight – each changes it completely. It’s just a patch of pavement, worn down by years and weather, yet its beauty goes almost entirely unnoticed.

I used to pass this place every day on my way back from the Academy. Its uneven, melted, and patched surface always felt oddly alive to me – playful even. Watching it shift with every change of light made me a little happier each time.

Exhibited in: “Endurlings. The End of the City”, Warsaw, 2025 – the artist’s MFA graduation exhibition.

The painting is ready to hang and will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, insured and tracked to ensure its safety during transport. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.

Materials used:

Oil paint on canvas
