Violet Honeyday - Abstract Expressionist Floral Landscape
Violet Honeyday is a celebration of colour, rhythm, and movement, my way of capturing the wild joy of a summer meadow. Inspired by the expressive freedom of Jackson Pollock, I let the paint move with energy and emotion, dripping and throwing colour to create layers of rhythm and texture. From this flow of chaos emerged violets, yellows, and reds, forming an abstract field of flowers alive with light and vitality. This large diptych (180 x 120 cm on two panels, each 90 x 120 cm) is painted in oil and acrylic, giving depth and richness that change as the light shifts. My work lives between realism and abstraction, where flowers are recognisable yet caught in motion. Violet Honeyday is about joy, freedom, and the raw beauty of nature, expressive and full of life, created to fill a space with warmth, movement, and the spirit of summer.
