Taken on a spring afternoon from the water looking towards the colourful waterfront of Villefranche-sur-Mer, this photograph captures the timeless beauty of the French Riviera. Pastel buildings climb the hillside above the Mediterranean Sea, creating a scene that feels both vibrant and peaceful.

The image has an almost painterly quality, with soft colours, shimmering reflections and warm Mediterranean light combining to create a feeling of escape. Looking across the bay, it is easy to understand why artists, writers and travellers have been drawn to this corner of the Côte d'Azur for generations.

The Côte d'Azur has long held a special place in my heart. I am continually inspired by the way the sea, architecture and natural light come together to create moments of extraordinary beauty. This photograph was taken while looking back towards the waterfront from the water itself, offering a perspective that captures both the charm of the town and the vastness of the Mediterranean beyond.

I create photographs that are designed to evoke a feeling rather than simply document a location. My work is inspired by a love of the sea, atmospheric light and a combination of those that evoke a feeling of freedom.

I hope this image brings a sense of calm, warmth and escapism into the home, transporting the viewer to a peaceful afternoon on the French Riviera whenever they look at it.
