A luminous Spanish village landscape painted in gouache and Watercolour on red paper. Blocks of magenta and ochre suggest rooftops and lanes, cut by a band of deep green and a cool blue-grey sky. The red ground shows through the brushstrokes, giving the scene warmth and rhythm. A graphic ,energetic and expressive view that sits between landscape and abstraction.
