Original artwork description
View of the Holy Face Monastery desert village Klykovo. In this painting, I captured the quiet, reflective spirit of a rustic village at dusk. Through oil’s rich textures and impressionistic touches, I aimed to blend realistic detail with a soft, dreamlike atmosphere. The gentle light and earthy colors invite calm and nostalgia, bringing peaceful energy and a sense of timelessness to your space.
This spring plain-air in Klykovo was full of impressions. Every morning I went out to the open air and wandered for a long time with a sketchbook in search of a motive. I found this motive not far from the monastery in which we lived.
Early spring. In the foreground is a village estate with buildings. Behind it is a cathedral. On the back is the artist's ex-libris.
