Viburnum. A Moment Between Seasons (2026) Original Watercolour by Maryna Boiko

38 x 56 x 0.1cm (unframed)

£453.01

I painted this work as a feeling — capturing that fleeting moment when autumn is already in the air, yet the warmth of summer still lingers in the palette. The leaves have begun their transition, losing their perfect green to subtle shifts and slight fading, while the vibrant berries remain full of life, holding the viewer's attention.

In this piece, my goal was to move beyond the decorative. I chose to keep the background soft and atmospheric, with depth and scattered color to evoke the sense of air moving between the branches. This allows the viburnum to feel more defined as it gently emerges into the foreground.

For me, this painting is about quietness, a pause, and the delicate transition between seasons.
