Vase Composition XVIII'25 expands the artist's investigation into still life as a spatial and architectural presence, where scale, material, and rhythm converge into a unified field.

The composition is structured through a dialogue between two vessel forms—reduced to essential contours and positioned in quiet tension. Their silhouettes, traced through a continuous and deliberate line, oscillate between solidity and absence, allowing the surrounding space to participate actively in the work.

Executed using the punch needle technique, the surface develops as a tactile relief. Wool and alpaca fibers accumulate in varying densities, generating a nuanced topography that absorbs and reflects light. This shifting material presence resists the flatness of image-making, situating the work between textile, drawing, and low sculpture.

The geometric base anchors the composition, introducing a measured contrast to the fluidity of the forms above. Around them, the textured field unfolds through subtle directional patterns, creating a sense of movement contained within a controlled structure.

At this larger scale, the work takes on an architectural dimension. It no longer functions as an object alone, but as a spatial intervention—capable of defining and stabilizing the environment it inhabits.

Rooted in a sensibility aligned with wabi-sabi and contemporary material practice, Vase Composition XVIII'25 emphasizes restraint, tactility, and the expressive potential of natural fibers.

Collected by interior designers and used in luxury hotel interiors, Milena Paladino artworks exist within a broader dialogue between art and design—where material presence and quiet balance become central to the experience of space.
