In Vase Composition XVII'25, the still life evolves from a singular object into a dialogue between forms. Two vessels emerge as quiet presences, arranged in a composition that suggests both balance and tension—an interplay of proximity, proportion, and negative space.

Rendered through punch needle embroidery on linen, the work transcends the flatness of the image plane. The surface becomes tactile and sculptural, as alpaca and wool fibers build subtle reliefs that catch and diffuse light. This materiality introduces a temporal dimension: the composition shifts throughout the day, revealing new tonal relationships and depths.

The restrained palette—soft beige, warm brown, and natural linen—anchors the work within a contemporary minimalist language, closely aligned with Japandi and wabi-sabi sensibilities. Yet beneath its calm exterior lies a precise structural logic. Each form is carefully positioned, creating a rhythm that oscillates between solidity and openness.

Rather than depicting objects, the work proposes a system of relationships. The vessels function less as representations and more as anchors within a spatial field—markers of presence that define the surrounding emptiness as much as themselves.

Through this reduction, Vase Composition XVII'25 becomes an exploration of essential form: a study in how simplicity, when paired with material depth, can produce a quietly resonant visual experience.

Collected by interior designers and used in luxury hotels, Milena Paladino work extends beyond the domestic scale to inhabit carefully curated architectural spaces. It not as decoration, but as a quiet anchor—establishing balance, depth, and presence within the environment. Selected placements include:
