I use the languorous arched bodies reaching out and acting out to express anxiety, emotion and desire; the figures are inspired by drawings from another age, yet the angst feels perfectly contemporary. The bodies moving as if to an inner rhythm, appear restless and harmonious at the same time. Broad, textured brushstrokes and texture seem to add a new dynamic to classic shapes.
