Bogdan Kravchenko

Born and raised in Eastern Europe, I earned a Fine Arts Master’s degree in book graphics at Kyiv State Academy of Arts. As a book graphic I illustrated a few Jerome K Jerome’s stories, A. Tolstoy’s novels, and developed the art concept for the museum of prominent Russian writer M. Bulgakov, including all publishing materials. As an art director and graphic designer I had an exciting career in advertising winning numerous awards at international ad festivals. My paintings are in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, France, Germany, and USA.
My artworks are done in different techniques: watercolors, oil and pastel;
and genres: realism, grotesque, and to some extent, surrealism.
My recent paintings appear mysterious and emotionally charged with traces of a decorative approach. They have a fairy tale like appeal featuring birds, beasts and people. I do often resort to my favored device of personification and depict animals with human features. In simple words, my work is a separate world full of imagination.
