I painted this work inspired by the Twelve Apostles coastline in Australia, but my intention was not geographical accuracy — it was the feeling of the place that mattered most. At sunset, the ocean and the cliffs seem to lose their weight: light softens form, and the space fills with stillness, scale, and a quiet sense of solitude.
The painting is created in oil using an expressive impasto technique. Dense, confident palette-knife strokes shape the monumental rock formations and the rhythm of the shoreline.
