Artwork description
Much of my inspiration for this print is thanks to the many visits I make to the beautiful Palm House in Kew Gardens. In this piece I wanted to accentuate the layers of shapes and tonal shades you see when plants are contained so closely together. These fluid forms flow into one another to create new and abstract spaces and shadows which I find so mesmerising to look at.
Please be aware that each print I make is done completely organically, with no set structure to my lino blocks or preconceived idea of what the finished piece will look like. Each leaf and petal is picked and then printed as the moment dictates and is finished when it feels right.
Each print will have similarities and differences as a consequence of how I work.
There are some faint marks left by my over eager inky fingers, these can be hidden when framed.
Materials used:
Somerset satin 250gsm and oil based inks

- Linocut on Paper
