About Alison Headley

  • Biography

I’m a printmaker living in south west London. I’ve been making my linocuts for over 12 years now and I love what I do! All my work is designed and printed in very limited batches that are very often variable editions due to the fact that I love colour and cannot stick to one combination for a whole edition. I have a dedicated space in my home which is where I handprint my work or I go to a shared studio in Richmond to print my work on the beautiful Colombian Press there. The majority of my editions are extremely limited as well as variable so what you’re purchasing is an original handmade piece that is often a unique artwork and definitely not mass produced or digitally enhanced copies. I’ve exhibited at the Bankside and OXO Galleries for several shows and have had a piece chosen for the Royal Art Academy’s Summer show. You can also find my work displayed in some luxury Hotels around the world such as The London Dorchester Hotel. And you may spot some of my prints on book covers and gift cards. I’d like to add a very Big thank you to all the lovely collectors around the world who have appreciated my art enough to have it hanging in their personal spaces it makes what I do all the more worthwhile!
And please don’t be shy, if you spot a piece that has sold you can message me to ask if I still have it in stock or I can sometimes make a print to order. I’m also open to commissions 😊 Your support for my small business is so very appreciated!

A story within the art piece. A hidden meaning. An abstract concept. On occasion the artist is generous and reveals to the viewer the reason and meaning behind their creations...often the observer must discover and invent their own interpretation. A person, a place, a happening.
