Original artwork description:

Artwork in which I devised an imaginary portrait of Baldassarre Tommaso Peruzzi (1481 - 1536) : he was an Italian architect, painter and stage designer, a scholar of architecture and a military engineer. Engaged in various fields of endeavor, he was one of the few to be considered a “universal man,” on a par with figures such as Raphael and Michelangelo, capable of affecting the development of the arts in a great many areas. In expressing this work, I tried to capture the intensity and emotional complexity of the subject, enveloping it in an embrace of vivid colors and expressive forms. The architecture in the background echoes the depth of his thought, while the light and shadows play on his face to accentuate his dramatic features. This canvas is not just a portrait; it is a window into the human struggle, a dialogue between the soul and the outside world. Each brushstroke aims to evoke reflection, evasion and a deep sense of empathy in the viewer.
