Original artwork description
I've devoted a lot of attention here to textures to achieve this particular feel of the trees glowing with life - as if we're beholding the undercurrent of this forest scene - searching to evoke that timeless feeling that deep contemplation of nature can bring.
Also the unusual surreal perspective is meant to serve this purpose - as if looking up laying on the forest floor yet the tree trunks seem to come together in a special way, intertwined and unified at their crowns height.
The black background and fine lining evoke the minimalist and contemporary graphic associations - one would be tempted to say abstracted, if not for the fact that these trees feel not only non-abstract, but quite the contrary even more real and present.
The drawing is done with pastel and charcoal on a fine black tinted paper (250g/m2), secured with multiple layers of archival fixative for UV and smudging protection.
Comes framed in wood behind glass and ready to hang.
