For several years I paid visits to this tree in different conditions; it struck me as special, but finding a suitable way to capture it proved elusive. Then, one still, warm summer night, a scene presented itself – lying on the ground, the tree’s form dominated my view, with the stars gradually creeping past in the background and the wildflowers and grasses standing motionless all around.
