Painted en plein air on a very crisp and cold January morning from a location I visit throughout the year. The view towards St Michael's in Coxwold is framed and counterbalanced by a winter tree. The sun picked out the top of the cut hedgerow which ran diagonally across the view. Oil on canvas board, painted with thick impasto brushstrokes.
