Wittenham Clumps is a local beauty spot in Oxfordshire that was a favourite painting spot for the 20th century artist Paul Nash amongst many others. This Wintry view to the Clumps is from a field looking towards Round Hill in the distance, there are trees, brambles and dried foliage to the foreground and there is a covering of snow on the ground. I have enhanced the cool Winter palette with subtle warm shades of mauve, rose, teal and umber. This scene is mainly painted using watercolour, but I have also used some loose pen work for added detail, as well as some drawing ink in places for added depth and texture.
This painting has now sold, but can be purchased as a limited edition print from my website
