The painting feels like a surge of energy — layers of deep and vibrant blue moving across the surface like shifting water or a rising tide. TOUGH TIMES 2 is a contemporary abstract painting defined by expressive brushstrokes, bold color fields, and the dynamic tension of multiple layered beginnings. The composition combines strong blues with darker accents and subtle traces of earlier marks, creating a sense of movement, resilience, and emotional depth.
This series was born from rediscovered unfinished works — early layers full of spontaneity, texture, and leftover paint from larger blue pieces. Returning to them after a long break brought both challenge and opportunity: reconnecting with the original impulse, navigating the intensity of the first layers, and finding a new visual balance. Sometimes a painting that gives you a tough time ends up revealing something truly special.
