The Title
I very much had these words roaming around my head. Artists often have days when the work won't flow, and the creative process becomes difficult. I always find a way to push through these moments in the studio, and quite often,with tenacity,the painting is complete, and the feeling of the struggle subsides. It's a wonderful moment.
The Painting
My work takes me to a subconscious space, shapes are created freehand. A particular type of brush, the consistency of the oil paint, and my trained hand all aid the process.
The theory and history of colour fascinates me and engulfs my work. Simultaneous contrasts help each colour sing. I use wonderful colours, either mixed by hand or the intense pigments of quality paints such as Gamblin or Michael Harding. My paintings speak to me as I create, I take my time, it takes the lead!
I've used a Stretched Block Canvases ,380 gsm , 100% cotton. Primed with a low-absorbency universal primer. The stretcher frame is made from high quality wood from Sustainable Forests and the profile is in one single piece.
The canvas can easily be hung without further framing due to the stability of the thick stretchers. which have a cross support bar for increased strength.
You can be confident that you will receive a quality artwork, painted by me, and finished with two coats of varnish for protection. I'll pack your painting with care to ensure it arrives safely.
