Togetsukyo Bridge in Arashiyama, Kyoto (2015) Original Watercolour by Masato Watanabe
40 x 30 x 0.01cm (unframed) / 40 x 30cm (actual image size)
£511.78
Original artwork description
In this landscape painting, I depicted the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge spanning the Katsura River in Arashiyama, one of Kyoto's most celebrated scenic spots.
What inspired me was the soft, misty atmosphere blanketing the surrounding mountains in spring, contrasting with the sharp, horizontal structure of the wooden bridge and the shimmering reflections on the water. By combining delicate, layered washes for the distant hills with crisp brushwork for the river's surface, I aimed to capture the timeless serenity of Arashiyama.
