'Runners, Lovers' was my working title. This painting was the eye catcher of my solo exhibition at the end of 2018. This large mixed media work was the most exciting I ever worked on. From creating the acrylic vibrant first layers till the last detailed flowers in the foreground which had to be forget-me-nots of course… The running couple was already in my mind a long time but the burning sunset (or is it fire?) made me really passionate about this one. I enjoyed the painting of the flowers on her dress and the grays and oranges on their arms so much! (you can find a lot of process videos on my instagram!)

Many people ask me where my art comes from. I often wonder about the same thing. These images in my head look like scenes from a film. Except I don’t know what the ‘real story’ is or what will happen next... I just feel it’s important... It’s amazing to notice that other people feel it too and that everyone creates his/her own story..

Made with acrylic and oilpaints with cold wax medium. Varnished to protect from UV-light. signed on the front (and signed certificate of authencity added) and of course ready to hang!
