Tidal Intersection is an original contemporary abstract painting from my Oceanic Geometry series, created in 2026.

This artwork explores the invisible point where architecture meets the rhythm of the sea. Rather than painting a literal coastline, I wanted to capture the quiet structure hidden within water—where reflections, horizons, and geometric forms merge into a balanced contemporary composition.

While creating this painting, I imagined modern waterfront architecture mirrored on calm water. Vertical forms suggest buildings and harbors, while horizontal layers dissolve into reflections and open space. The result is a composition that feels both architectural and atmospheric, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover new relationships between structure, light, and movement.

The painting was developed through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint using palette knives, brushes, scraping techniques, and expressive mark-making. Each layer remains visible, creating rich texture, depth, and subtle tonal transitions that continue to change beautifully as natural light moves across the surface.

A refined palette of soft blue, ivory white, smoky grey, charcoal black, warm taupe, deep brown, and delicate ochre creates a timeless contemporary aesthetic. The cool blues evoke water and sky, while earthy neutrals introduce warmth and stability, allowing the composition to feel both calming and sophisticated.

Although entirely abstract, Tidal Intersection often evokes waterfront architecture, peaceful marinas, distant horizons, and quiet reflections on still water. It leaves room for personal interpretation while bringing a strong sense of balance, openness, and tranquility.

Designed as a statement artwork, this painting is ideal for modern living rooms, executive offices, boutique hotels, reception spaces, luxury apartments, and contemporary architectural interiors. Its elegant palette complements Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist, coastal contemporary, industrial, and organic modern interiors.

Within my Oceanic Geometry series, I explore the hidden geometry of nature and the subtle dialogue between architecture and water. Tidal Intersection represents the moment when solid structures dissolve into reflections, creating harmony between the built world and the natural landscape.
