£150
Original artwork description
Thingvellir is is a jaw-dropping place. And it carries more significance than just the stunning spectacle of the geology. The setting of Iceland's original parliament, and the site where two tectonic plates are visibly pulling apart, it is a landscape that makes you feel the deep time of a place. This drawing tries to respond to the rift valley setting: the rock walls, the lava plain, the particular quality of the geology there. I visited it with my family in 2025 and I love the drawings that have emerged as a result.
