Thingvellir Geology (2025) Original Ink Drawing by Steve Potts
19 x 13.7cm (unframed) / 16.6 x 11.5cm (actual image size)
£160
Original artwork description
Small scale ink and wash drawing. Thingvellir was one of the most extraordinary places we visited on our Iceland trip in 2025. The rift valley where the tectonic plates are pulling apart is genuinely unlike anything I have seen, and the drawing is an attempt to make sense of a landscape that seems to be in the middle of becoming something else. The fractured, angular quality of the terrain suited an approach that lets the ink make its own decisions.
Materials used:
ink, wash
Details:
- Ink drawing on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 19 x 13.7cm (unframed) / 16.6 x 11.5cm (actual image size)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
