Original artwork description
Only this moment. Only tonight. There is no tomorrow. No world remains. We will not be "us" as we recall ourselves. Strangers to our families, foreigners in our land, transient as flowers in our crowns—we are crowned with transcendence itself.
As much as I'd love to keep this description in the philosophical field, tangible social and political threats loom over LGBTQ+ communities globally. This is no abstraction, no mere poetry. Our existence has devolved from a transcendent experience into a precarious struggle. How I wish I could still play with the fluidity of meaning of "Here & Now".
