My partner had gone to China on a business trip and bought me back the Chinese Dragon. I so liked the image and colours that it featured in my still life with the Chinese silk Kimono. I love these oriental shapes and colours especially the mandarin reds. I have painted a series of these featuring Chinese silks and the Dragon. This pastel artwork won the "Henri Roche award" at the Pastel society annual exhibition.. The award was pure pastels made by Henri Roche Paris - a very old company which the French impressionists pastel artists used for their work.
