Winter cold,
through layers of memory
the recollection cracks.
Layers of leaves and transparencies converse in an inner garden.
The moment is suspended: silence and memory become visible form.
"The white hour" is the first painting of a series of mixed-media works where collage, earth pigments, and veils of paint intertwine to evoke the fragility and imperfect beauty of the seasons — witnesses of time’s passage and of what remains.
Work executed with acrylic colors and collage on birch wood cradled panel.
The botanical prints were handmade on tissue paper, first hand-dyed and then printed using leaves, flowers, and small branches. The edges are painted and it is ready to hang. The surface is finished with a double layer of water-based satin varnish, which makes it resistant to UV rays and the passage of time.
